Beirut: Former President Michel Sleiman has declared that the upcoming 48 hours are critical in Lebanon's journey towards national recovery. In a recent statement, he emphasized the potential of these days to signify a genuine start on the path to saving the nation.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Sleiman reflected on the significance of the approaching anniversary of the Beirut Port explosion. He expressed hope that this momentous day would bring forth the indictment related to the incident or at least initiate the countdown to its issuance.
Sleiman also highlighted the importance of Tuesday's Cabinet session, where a preliminary decision is anticipated regarding the implementation of a weapons collection plan. This plan aims to eventually place all weapons in the control of the state, marking a crucial step towards national stability.
Concluding his statement, Sleiman underscored the gravity of the moment, stating that it could either mark the beginning of Lebanon's rescue or lead to continued deterioration beyond any previous hardships.
