Beirut: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Lebanese Republic has issued a strong condemnation regarding recent comments made by Mr. Ali Akbar Velayati, an advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran. The ministry views these remarks as blatant interference in Lebanon's internal affairs.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, this incident is not isolated, as senior Iranian officials have previously made similar statements concerning Lebanese domestic matters. The Lebanese government has expressed that such conduct is unacceptable and emphasized that Lebanon will not allow any foreign entity to assert influence over its sovereign decisions or to speak on behalf of its citizens.
The ministry further highlighted that Iran should prioritize addressing the needs of its own populace rather than involving itself in issues irrelevant to its national interests. Lebanon's policies and political system, the statement asserts, are to be determined solely by its people through democratic processes free of external pressure or interference.
The Lebanese State remains committed to defending its sovereignty and will respond diplomatically to any attempts to challenge its authority or incite opposition to its decisions.
