Beirut: UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti responded to an inquiry by the National News Agency about the Israeli army spokesperson's allegations regarding the Aaqbiyeh incident, stating, "UNIFIL has no information related to the aforementioned report."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Tenenti emphasized that UNIFIL maintains relations with the Lebanese Armed Forces and other Lebanese security institutions. He noted that UNIFIL continues to work in coordination and partnership with the Lebanese Armed Forces, in line with their mandate, to support the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
Tenenti also addressed the ongoing judicial proceedings concerning the killing of Private Sean Rooney in December 2022. He stated that UNIFIL has been providing its full support to the Lebanese and Irish authorities throughout their proceedings.
