Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam welcomed Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea and a delegation from the 'Strong Republic' bloc at the Grand Serail. The delegation included MPs Sethrida Geagea, Ghassan Hasbani, Fadi Karam, Pierre Bou Assi, Melhem Riachy, Antoine Habshi, George Okais, Razi Hajj, Elie Khoury, Nazih Matta, and Saeed Asmar. The meeting underscored support for the Prime Minister's national and sovereign positions.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions focused on government decisions to assert state authority over its territories and limit weapons possession to legitimate institutions. The dialogue included the handover of Palestinian weapons to the army and addressed the financial gap draft law, a crucial element in financial reform and depositor protection.
Samir Geagea praised recent government decisions, stating they have redirected Lebanon onto the right path and urged adherence to government resolutions.
In a separate meeting, Prime Minister Salam engaged with 'Democratic Gathering' bloc MPs Akram Chehayeb and Raji al-Saad to discuss the political landscape and developmental needs of the Aley district. MP Chehayeb reiterated support for the Prime Minister's stance on arms regulation under state authority.
Prime Minister Salam also conferred with MP Ahmed Al-Khair regarding northern Lebanon's latest developments and developmental issues. MP Al-Khair expressed support for the government's and Prime Minister's positions.
Additionally, a delegation of Beiruti family associations visited Prime Minister Salam to express support for his initiatives and the Cabinet's decisions, wishing him success in his endeavors.
