Beirut: Foreign Minister, Youssef Raggi, on Wednesday met with Iraq's Charg© d'Affaires in Lebanon, Mohammed Redha Al-Husseini, who delivered an official invitation from Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to visit Baghdad.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Raggi welcomed the invitation and pledged to fulfill it at the earliest opportunity. Al-Husseini also invited Raggi to participate in the upcoming High-Level International Conference on the Repatriation of Individuals from al-Hol Camp, scheduled for September on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Raggi expressed Lebanon's gratitude for Iraq's continued support, especially for providing fuel to power Lebanon's electricity plants.
Later, Raggi received newly appointed Palestinian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Al-Assaad, who presented a copy of his credentials. Discussions touched on the sensitive issue of transferring arms from Palestinian camps to Lebanese authorities.
