Beirut: The official spokesperson for the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fateh), Abdel Fattah Dawleh, has announced a significant development concerning the delivery of the third batch of PLO weapons to the Lebanese Army. This delivery marks the largest of its kind since July 1991 and includes various heavy weapons, scheduled to cover 10 of the 12 Palestinian camps in Lebanon.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Dawleh emphasized the collaborative effort led by the Palestinian National Security Forces, headed by Major General Al-Abed Ibrahim, in full coordination with the Lebanese security services. This operation underscores the joint Palestinian-Lebanese cooperation aimed at extending the authority of the Lebanese state across its territory and ensuring exclusive control over weapons.
Dawleh further highlighted that this initiative is in line with a previous agreement announced by President Mahmoud Abbas with Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun on May 21. The agreement marks a new phase of partnership between the two peoples, emphasizing respect for Lebanese sovereignty and adherence to Lebanese laws.
He concluded by expressing the desire for a stable Palestinian camp environment that maintains its national symbolism and supports the refugees' integration and resilience, as part of the broader struggle for their rights and eventual return.
