Netanyahu Comments on Delayed Announcement of Abu Obeida’s Fate

Jerusalem: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly addressed, for the first time, the recent assassination attempt on Abu Obeida, the military spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, during a security cabinet meeting. His comments were reported by Sky News Arabia, citing Israel's Channel 14.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Netanyahu remarked in a brief statement, "The Israeli army attacked Abu Obeida, and we are waiting for the results," highlighting that the announcement of his death by Hamas has been delayed. He further noted, "We are waiting for the results. I noticed that Hamas' announcement was a little late. It seems that there is no one to keep us informed of this matter."

The Israeli army has indicated that the information regarding Abu Obeida's current condition is being verified, suggesting that he was likely seriously injured in the attack.
