Beirut: Minister of Administrative Development Fadi Makki announced his readiness to resign from the government if it serves the national interest, following his withdrawal from the ongoing Cabinet session. Makki emphasized his commitment to overcoming obstacles and supporting the army's plan, advocating for leaving the timeframe to the discretion of its leadership, which he regards as a guarantor of national unity and sovereignty. He expressed his inability to continue bearing the burden of decision-making in light of the withdrawal of a key political component, leading to his decision to exit the session.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Makki urged his fellow ministers and political authorities to engage in discussions about the plan within the framework of the ministerial statement they all endorsed. This statement emphasizes the exclusive control of arms by the state and its institutions. Makki called for wisdom and calm in proceeding, prioritizing the national interest, the South, and civil peace above all else. He reiterated his willingness to place his resignation at the disposal of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam if it benefits the nation.
