Geagea Discusses Political and Security Issues with British Ambassador

Maarab: Lebanese Forces Party leader, Samir Geagea, held a meeting with the British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell, in Maarab. The ambassador was accompanied by Second Secretary Philippa Giles and Political Advisor Ghadi Daou. Present at the meeting were former Minister Richard Kouyoumjian, head of the party's foreign relations apparatus, and Perla Salibi from the Lebanese Forces foreign relations department.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions between Geagea and the British delegation focused on the latest political and security developments in Lebanon. Geagea emphasized the unified stance of the Lebanese people in backing the Lebanese Army, highlighting the army's critical role as mandated by the government. He stressed the necessity of adhering to the government's decisions regarding exclusive authority over arms and eliminating illegal weapons, which he sees as essential steps toward genuine reform and establishing a functional state.

The dialogue also covered several key issues, particularly the upcoming parliamentary elections. Geagea underscored the importance of holding the elections as scheduled, firmly opposing any delay in this constitutional process.
