Aoun Commemorates Martyrs Nasrallah, Safieddine: Loyalty to Sacrifices Can Only Be Achieved Through Unity of Positions

Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, called for the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the two former Secretary-Generals of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, to be "an opportunity to emphasize that preserving the sacrifices made by the nation's sons, regardless of their affiliations, can only be achieved through a unified stance and everyone rallying around the project of a single, strong, and just state."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Aoun considered that "the security, political, and economic threats facing Lebanon today can only be addressed through national solidarity and staying away from division, and by emphasizing that there is no true protection except under the umbrella of the Lebanese state, which alone possesses legitimacy and guarantees safety for all Lebanese, without discrimination or distinction."

The President expressed his hope that "this painful anniversary will be a moment for unity and strengthening the belief that Lebanon can only be saved through one state, one army, and constitutional institutions that protect sovereignty and safeguard dignity."

"May God protect our country from all evil," Aoun concluded.
