Economy Minister Visits Koura Region to Strengthen Industrial Sector

Koura: During his industrial tour of the Koura region on Saturday, Minister of Industry Joe Issa Khoury announced that "the district, like other Lebanese regions, through its existing industrial investments, contributes to strengthening the economy, enhancing growth, investment opportunities, and employment, and making Lebanon a productive country."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Issa Khoury emphasized the pride in Lebanon's widespread industry and highlighted the significance of Koura's industrial sector. Speaking at a seminar in Amyoun Municipality, he noted that the private sector has driven economic prosperity and disclosed that the state is enacting legislation to support business development and investment.

The minister stressed the importance of collaboration between the private sector and regional entities, such as municipalities and civil society, to inform the state about regional needs and opportunities for business growth. He called for cooperation to identify suitable areas for specialized industrial zones and emphasized the role of decentralization in development and infrastructure provision.

Minister Issa Khoury praised the knowledge and capabilities of Koura's residents and their investment orientation. He reaffirmed the sovereignty of the industrial sector and expressed his willingness to listen to stakeholders' needs. The seminar also addressed industry modernization, environmental issues, waste management, and circular economy, alongside ongoing reforms by the Ministry of Industry to combat corruption and aid industrial growth.

Accompanying the minister were MP Fadi Karam, several municipality heads, and Lebanese Forces coordinator in Koura, Rashad Ncoula. They visited factories producing explosives, food, solar energy, oil, soap, and vehicle containers.
