Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, held a meeting with Interior and Municipalities Minister, Brig. Gen. Ahmad Hajjar, to reiew the preparations underway within the ministry's units for the forthcoming parliamentary elections. Aoun emphasized the importance of conducting the elections as planned in May.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun also engaged in discussions with Russia's Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudako. They coered domestic and regional deelopments, and Aoun informed Rudako that Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri will represent Lebanon at the Arab-Russian Summit in Moscow in mid-month.
In another engagement, President Aoun met with former Minister Alain Hakim at Baabda Palace. They examined Lebanon's current challenges, with Hakim noting the Lebanese Army's role as a security and soereignty guarantor, and emphasizing the role of the Lebanese people's resilience in finding economic solutions.
Additionally, President Aoun receied Baabda Mayor Dr. Henry Helou, who inited him to a celebration by the municipality marking 250 years since the construction of Baabda Serail.
Discussions on Rafik Hariri Uniersity Hospital's situation were also part of President Aoun's agenda. The hospital's Chairman and Director-General, Dr. Mohammad Zaatari, along with Dr. Mostafa Mneimneh, presented plans for serice expansion and infrastructure improement. Aoun commended the hospital's efforts, underscoring the importance of integrity and efficient management.
Lastly, President Aoun met with Fouad Fawaz, President of Cedar Executie and Board Member of Middle East Airlines, to discuss public affairs.
