Beirut: Deputy Prime Minister, Tarek Mitri, on Thursday announced, following his meeting with President Joseph Aoun, that he had briefed the President on the outcome of the recent Lebanese-Syrian meetings, which he said are expected to strengthen trust in bilateral relations.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Mitri explained that the talks addressed several pending issues, notably the case of Syrian detainees in Lebanese prisons and ongoing efforts to determine whether Lebanese nationals remain held in Syria. Mitri added that the upcoming Cabinet session will include a briefing from the Lebanese Army Command on its monthly report concerning the exclusive possession of arms by the state. He also sought the President's guidance on Lebanon's representation at the first Arab-Russian Summit, scheduled for later this month in Moscow.
