Beirut: Justice Minister, Adel Nassar, on Thursday welcomed at his office the Chairman of the Emirates Association of Lawyers and Jurists, Zayed Al Shamsi, accompanied by Rani Sader, Secretary-General of the Arab Federation for Risk Management and Trade Facilitation, on a courtesy visit.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, later in the day, Minister Nassar met with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions, Morris Tidball-Binz, who headed a delegation. Discussions focused on several legal issues, including the independence of the judiciary and its recent amendments, the development of forensic medicine in Lebanon, and the abolition of the death penalty.
