Beirut: Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salameh, convened a meeting in his office at the National Library - Sanayeh with MP Farid Bustani, Chairman of the Parliamentary Economics Committee, and retired Brigadier General Adonis Nehme to discuss cultural development in Deir al-Qamar.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussion focused on the preservation of antiquities and the establishment of a public library in Deir al-Qamar. MP Bustani commended the Minister's dedication to restoring the presidential suite in Beiteddine Palace. In response, Dr. Salameh outlined plans to rehabilitate the Emir Amin Palace, a significant historical site in the Chouf region.
The meeting concluded with MP Bustani highlighting the importance of restoring the National School in Zqaq al-Blat, founded in the nineteenth century by educator Boustany. The Minister expressed understanding and support for this initiative, while Bustani committed to reaching out to donor agencies to secure funding for the project.
