Beirut: A delegation from the Administrative and Advisory Board and committee heads of the Makassed Alumni Association, led by Dr. Mazen Sharbaji, visited on Saturday Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Dr. Sharbaji affirmed his full support for Prime Minister Salam and the government's decisions, particularly those related to restricting the possession of weapons to the state and the need to apply the law equally to all citizens without exception.
He also stressed the need to stand behind the government as a fundamental step toward establishing stability and enhancing citizens' and the international community's confidence in state institutions.
In turn, PM Salam thanked the delegation members for their support, referring to the Taif Agreement and his commitment to implementing it rigorously. Salam affirmed the government's determination to strengthening state authority throughout Lebanon and restricting arms to legitimate military and security institutions, as stipulated in the Taif Agreement.
Finally, the delegation reiterated full support for the Council of Ministers' Presidency and to the Prime Minister, expressing hope that security measures would be accompanied by economic decisions and steps that would restore confidence in the national economy and open the way for new investment opportunities in Lebanon.
