Bassil Visits Deir El-Qamar, Emphasizes Support for Local Development

Deir el-qamar: Free Patriotic Movement leader, MP Gebran Bassil, began today a tour of the Chouf district with a visit to Deir el-Qamar, where he met with the town's mayor, Naji Germanos, and members of the municipal council. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Bassil expressed his support for the municipality, highlighting its role as a pivotal shift in direction. He discussed the essential role of municipalities in driving local development, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between his party and the municipal council. Bassil noted the current municipal council's efforts and expressed intentions to cooperate on the commercial market project. He pointed out issues such as the neglect of some archaeological sites and the old market, while stressing that Deir el-Qamar, with its heritage and strategic location, should be developed as a tourism center.
