Beirut: Minister of the Displaced, State Minister for Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Kamal Shehadeh, highlighted "the importance of the full redeployment of the Lebanese Army to extend state authority and help restore stability in southern Lebanon." He said, "This comes in implementation of the government's decision to restrict weapons and prohibit their transfer across all Lebanese territory."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, in an interview with Al Arabiya Channel, Shehadeh explained that "the international community is monitoring the implementation of the weapons confiscation plan, not only in the south of the Litani River, but in all regions." He added, "The first phase of the weapons confiscation plan is divided into two parts: the first concerns the area south of the Litani River, and the second involves controlling the presence of weapons throughout Lebanon, including those in Palestinian camps and those of all political parties, including Hezbollah."
In this context, Shehadeh confirmed that cabinet ministers "will pose numerous questions to the army leadership during the presentation of the plan," expressing his hope for receiving the required answers, based on which the government will take diplomatic action to garner necessary support for the army.
