Beirut: Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani on Friday said from Baabda Palace that 'Syria is undergoing a phase of recovery and reconstruction, which should positively reflect on Lebanon and on the historic and fraternal ties between the two countries.' 'I expect that all issues hindering the normalization of relations between Lebanon and Syria will soon be resolved in a way that benefits both peoples,' he added.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, al-Shaibani highlighted the mutual interests shared by Syria and Lebanon, emphasizing that the recovery process in Syria could foster stronger economic and political collaborations. He reiterated the importance of maintaining and enhancing the bilateral relationship to ensure stability and prosperity for both nations.
Al-Shaibani's visit to Baabda Palace signals a potential thaw in relations between the neighboring countries, which have experienced tensions over the past years.
