Frangieh and CDR President Deliberate Northern Lebanon’s Infrastructure Needs

Beirut: MP Tony Frangieh met with the President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), Eng. Mohammad Ali Qabbani, to discuss critical infrastructure priorities for Northern Lebanon. The meeting included Zgharta Union of Municipalities head Bassam Haykal, lawyer Ziad Khazen, Samer Hilal, and engineers George Frangieh and Assaf Yamin.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the session was also attended by CDR Vice Presidents Dr. Ibrahim Chahrour and Dr. Youssef Karam, Secretary-General Eng. Ghassan Khairallah, and other council staff. The focus was on addressing the urgent infrastructure needs in northern towns and villages, which have suffered from prolonged neglect, particularly in areas such as road networks, potable water, and wastewater systems.

Participants in the meeting emphasized the significance of reviving stalled government projects in the North. They advocated for increased public investment in essential infrastructure to promote balanced regional development, ensuring that the needs of northern communities are adequately met.
