Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam took to the X platform on Friday to address concerns over a report by Al Jadeed TV that exposed the sale of fake university degrees. In his statement, Salam emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, declaring immediate action to address the issue.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam has already reached out to the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Rima Karami, to begin legal proceedings. Dr. Karami is expected to file a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office to ensure that those involved in the scandal are held accountable. The Prime Minister stressed that individuals found guilty through investigation should face the strictest penalties. He reiterated his commitment to protecting the future of the nation's children and safeguarding the reputation of its educational institutions.
