Salam Confers with Egyptian Foreign Minister Over Developments in the South


Cairo: Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on its Facebook page that a phone call took place today, Saturday, between Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, and Lebanese Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam. The call addressed the developments in southern Lebanon and the ongoing efforts to reduce escalation and achieve calm and tranquility.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the Egyptian Foreign Minister expressed complete rejection of any infringement upon Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of reducing tensions and prioritizing de-escalation to preserve the security and stability of Lebanon and the region. He reiterated Egypt’s ‘firm and unwavering position in supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty, national unity, and independent decision, extending the Lebanese state’s control over all its territory, as well as supporting its national institutions to fully assume their responsibilities in maintaining the country’s stability and security, and safeguarding the interests of the brotherly Lebanese people.’
