Beirut: Hezbollah's Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem strongly asserted that the ongoing Israeli aggression towards Lebanon cannot continue indefinitely. He emphasized that Hezbollah remains committed to maintaining its power to confront the Israeli enemy's advances.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Sheikh Qassem made these remarks during a ceremony commemorating Hezbollah Martyr's Day, an event marking the inception of martyrdom operations by Ahmad Qassir. Sheikh Qassem highlighted the symbolic act of martyrdom by Ahmad Qassir, executed with the coordination and supervision of Haj Imad Mughniyeh and Haj Abu Al-Fadl Karaki, which resulted in significant casualties and demonstrated resistance against the occupation.
Sheikh Qassem recounted the impact of Ahmad Qassir's operation, noting the heavy losses inflicted on the Israeli forces and the morale blow it delivered, which contributed to Israel's eventual withdrawal from Lebanon. The ceremony, held in various locations across Lebanon, honored all martyrs and reiterated the commitment to the path of resistance.
The Hezbollah leader underscored the enduring strength and faith of the resistance fighters, attributing Israel's withdrawal in 2000 to their sacrifices. He highlighted the resistance's achievements, including the prevention of Israel's expansionist objectives, and criticized the Lebanese government's failure to prioritize sovereignty amidst external pressures.
Sheikh Qassem also addressed the Israeli occupation's broader goals, warning against political and economic domination plans and expressing concern over American influence on Lebanon's future. He reaffirmed Hezbollah's determination to continue defending Lebanon against aggression, asserting that the resistance will not be swayed by external threats or pressures.
The speech concluded with expressions of solidarity with the Palestinian people, appreciation for support from allies like Iran, and acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by commanders such as Qassem Soleimani. Sheikh Qassem's resolute message emphasized the enduring spirit of resistance and the commitment to liberation and dignity.
