Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday engaged in a series of meetings at the Second Presidency in Ain al-Tineh. He began with Anne-Claire Legendre, Advisor to the French President for North Africa and the Middle East. The meeting was attended by a delegation including French Ambassador Herv© Magro and Parliamentary Speaker's Advisor Dr. Mahmoud Berri. Discussions centered around political and field developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as bilateral relations between Lebanon and France.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri also held talks with Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Al-Bisat and President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council Charles Arbid. The discussion focused on preparations for the upcoming 'Beirut 1' Conference, set for November 18-19, and the broader economic situation. Minister Bisat emphasized the importance of the conference, highlighting Lebanon's potential for success through investment and the private sector. He noted that 800 participants have registered, including 120 international attendees and 50 regional and global companies.
In another meeting, Berri received Nicolas von Arx, the ICRC Regional Director for the Middle East, and an accompanying delegation. They discussed the committee's programs and activities in Lebanon and explored avenues for cooperation.
