Beirut: Amidst renewed discussions over the potential reopening of Saudi markets to Lebanese agricultural products, Agriculture Minister Nizar Hani highlighted Sunday key figures that show the extent of losses suffered by the sector in recent years, and explored the potential impact of this step on the recovery of agricultural exports.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Hani noted that the Saudi market has historically been the main artery for Lebanese agricultural exports, emphasizing that its reopening would be a stabilizing and revitalizing factor for a sector heavily reliant on Gulf markets.
"Reopening the Saudi market to Lebanese produce is not just a return to a trade route, but an opportunity to revive an entire sector and restore the capability of farmers and exporters to compete in a historical market that has embraced Lebanese products for decades," Hani maintained.
