Beirut: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Israeli army has launched "a strike in the heart of Beirut targeting the chief of staff of Hezbollah."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, following the raid on Haret Hreik in Beirut's southern suburbs, Netanyahu's office stated that the target "led the strengthening and arming of the party."
The brief statement continued: "The Prime Minister issued his order to attack based on the recommendation of the Minister of Defense and the Chief of Staff," adding, "Israel affirms its determination to act to achieve its objectives anywhere and at any time," according to Sky News.
