Majdal Zoun Public School Receives Educational Support Donation from Italian Contingent

Beirut: Majdal Zoun Public School welcomed a delegation from the Italian Contingent - Al-Mansouri Base, led by Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Ferraro, representing the Commander of the Italian Battalion (ITALBATT), Colonel Davide Marini. The delegation also included Major Dario Fioravanti, Chief of the Civil-Military Cooperation Office (CIMIC) at Al-Mansouri Base.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Italian delegation presented a donation to the school consisting of educational games and sportswear. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the CIMIC Office to support public schools within its area of responsibility.

Mr. Haidar El-Dorr, Director of Majdal Zoun Public School, extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and expressed his appreciation for this gesture, which provides moral support to both the students and staff. He emphasized the longstanding role played by the Italian Contingent since its deployment in South Lebanon, highlighting its continuous support for public schools, particularly Majdal Zoun Public School. He also wished the contingent success in their current and future missions.

The delegation members expressed their appreciation for the educational efforts carried out by the school's administration and teaching staff to ensure a better and safer future for Lebanon's students. They reaffirmed UNIFIL's commitment to supporting the public education sector within the available resources and noted that this donation is a tangible demonstration of their ongoing support for the school.
