Kyiv: Ukraine announced that a Russian drone attack on the city of Vyshhorod resulted in the death of one individual and injuries to 19 others. Vyshhorod is located just north of the capital, Kyiv.
According to Anadolu Agency, Mykola Kalashnyk, the governor of the Kyiv region, reported the increase in the number of injured to 19, including four children. Kalashnyk confirmed that one man succumbed to injuries from the attack. Eleven of the injured were hospitalized with varying degrees of severity, and a fire in a multi-story building that was targeted was extinguished.
Kalashnyk further reported damage to two other high-rise buildings, 14 private buildings, an enterprise, and seven cars in the city. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the situation on social media platform X, highlighting injuries in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions and noting that the Odesa, Sumy, and Kherson regions were also affected.
President Zelenskyy emphasized the necessity of strengthening Ukraine's defenses, pointing to recent attacks as evidence. He called for essential military support, including missiles and air-defense systems, and stressed the importance of collaborating with international partners to find solutions for peace.
Additionally, Ukraine's Air Force claimed to have shot down 104 out of 122 drones launched by Russia overnight, as stated on Telegram. They also mentioned the launch of two Iskander-M ballistic missiles but did not elaborate on their outcome.
Local authorities in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions reported one injury in each region due to the attacks. Russian authorities have yet to make a statement regarding the strikes.
