Beirut: Unknown perpetrators overnight stole copper cables from an Ogero telephone distribution station and electric cables powering traffic lights at the 'Arab Roundabout' near the Government Serail in Sidon. Residents of the city's southeastern highway area awoke to a complete outage of landline communications, after the thieves forcefully removed the metal protective boxes around both stations, tampered with the equipment, and extracted the cables-despite the presence of surveillance cameras in the vicinity. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Ogero filed an official complaint at the Sidon police station, requesting legal action to identify and pursue the culprits.
