President Sleiman Affirms Authority of Republic President to Negotiate Under Article 52


Beirut: Former President Michel Sleiman emphasized the constitutional powers granted to the President of the Republic in a statement today. He addressed the global anticipation for the upcoming year, expressing hope for a future focused on peace rather than past setbacks. Sleiman cautioned against hastily rejecting initiatives, stating that such actions are not beneficial for the nation or its citizens.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Sleiman highlighted Article 52 of the Constitution, which delineates the President’s authority to negotiate with the agreement of the Prime Minister. The article also outlines the process for presenting and concluding negotiations results before the Council of Ministers and subsequently, the House of Parliament.
