Beirut: Reading out the decisions from today's Cabinet session, Information Minister, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, highlighted the ongoing achievements and future plans discussed during the meeting. "President Aoun extended well wishes for the New Year and commended the ministers for the accomplishments since taking office, emphasizing the importance of maintaining this momentum as 'the entire world is counting on us,'" Morcos stated. The President also reiterated that Lebanon will not be used as a launchpad for operations against Syria.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Council of Ministers reviewed a presentation by the army command concerning the arms control plan. The Council praised the military institution for its diligent efforts in this area. Additionally, the Lebanese army command is set to develop a plan to withdraw weapons from north of the Litani River. This plan is scheduled to be presented to the Council of Ministers by February.
Morcos further noted that the Cabinet approved most items on the agenda and is actively addressing issues related to the public sector and teachers. Special sessions will be convened to focus on these matters.
