Beirut: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport issued a statement on Thursday addressing recent criticism concerning its administrative and organizational measures.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ministry explained that any transfers, assignments, or organizational steps are intended to enhance workflow and improve administrative performance and public service. These measures align with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring equal opportunity and aiming to place the right person in the right position for the public interest.
The ministry emphasized that its management approach is focused on institutional reform, activating administrations, and ensuring public service continuity despite significant vacancies. It clarified that the measures are free from populist or political influences that do not align with reform objectives or citizens' interests.
Furthermore, the ministry stated that the recent measures are temporary and not permanent appointments within the civil service. These actions were necessary to maintain regular work during a transitional phase, pending the completion of legal processes for permanent appointments as per laws and decrees.
The statement highlighted that these temporary measures impact a limited number of positions and do not undermine principles of justice or national partnership. It rejected claims of sectarian or exclusionary motives, stating that such allegations lack objective facts and are outside the proper administrative context.
The ministry concluded by urging accuracy in addressing the issue, avoiding polemics or emotional rhetoric. It reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and responsibility, inviting inquiries through official channels.
