Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Monday met at Baabda Palace with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raggi. The discussions centered on developments in southern Lebanon, particularly in the context of ongoing Israeli attacks and the diplomatic efforts being made to address the situation. The meeting also covered issues pertinent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, MP Walid Baarini, following his meeting with President Aoun, stated that his visit was intended to express support for the President. Baarini praised the achievements accomplished over the past year, the choice of negotiations, and the recent diplomatic appointments. He also reiterated his support for the arms-exclusivity file and emphasized development demands in Akkar, including the Qlayaat Airport project.
In a separate statement, Farid Zaynoun, the head of the Gas Sector Workers and Distributors Syndicate, condemned what he identified as organized campaigns targeting the Presidency. He emphasized that the role of President is a constitutional "red line" and cautioned against rhetoric that could undermine state institutions and national stability.
