Beirut: Reports circulating on social media and in several media outlets on Friday claimed that Parliament approved extending the retirement age to 66 under Article 11 of the state budget law.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, after contacting the General Secretariat of Parliament, the Ministry of Information's Fact Check Lebanon team confirmed that the information is false. The Secretariat clarified that the provision on extending the retirement age appears exclusively in a draft law related to the Civil Service Council, which has yet to be debated, and is not included in the budget law approved yesterday.
