Beirut: Deputy Head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, on Wednesday hosted Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, at the Council's headquarters for a farewell visit marking the conclusion of Ambassador Amani's diplomatic mission in Lebanon.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Sheikh Al-Khatib extended his best wishes to Ambassador Amani for success in his forthcoming responsibilities. Sheikh Al-Khatib acknowledged the ambassador's role in enhancing the bonds of joint bilateral relations between Lebanon and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The meeting also served as a platform to discuss the general situation in Lebanon and the broader regional context.
