Beirut: Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem emphasized that Lebanon will not become a gateway for US-Israeli hegemony. He declared that the resistance in Lebanon is constitutionally guaranteed and cannot be prevented, speaking during a memorial ceremony for Hezbollah commander Ali Salhab.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Sheikh Qassem addressed various issues during his speech. He highlighted the perceived weaknesses of both the Israeli state and the United States, suggesting that the Zionist entity would be vulnerable without US military support. He claimed that the US is facing increased hostility from other nations.
Sheikh Qassem expressed admiration for the Islamic Republic of Iran on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, commending Supreme Leader Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei for elevating Iran to a position of significant influence. He praised the late commander Ali Salhab for his dedication and effectiveness in military operations against Israeli forces and in combating Takfiri terrorist groups.
The Hezbollah leader offered congratulations to Iran on the Islamic Revolution's 47th anniversary and extended condolences to Pakistan following an ISIL attack on a mosque in Islamabad. He reinforced the notion that the Islamic Revolution has been a source of support for oppressed groups and has bolstered resistance against US influence.
In discussing Lebanese affairs, Sheikh Qassem underscored the importance of the resistance in defending both Lebanon and Palestine, urging the Lebanese State to support the resistance for future progress. He reiterated that resistance is a constitutionally protected right in Lebanon.
Sheikh Qassem warned against allowing Lebanon to be used as a conduit for US-Israeli dominance, asserting that the region is being reconfigured to serve these interests. He stated that the US and Israel are weaker than in the past, with Israel failing to achieve its objectives in various regions despite its military capabilities.
He affirmed that the resistance is a crucial national asset, vowing that Hezbollah will continue to deny the enemy stability and security. Sheikh Qassem reflected on the 2024 Israeli war, noting Hezbollah's resilience despite significant challenges, and announced temporary housing support for those displaced by the conflict, while urging the Lebanese State to fulfill its responsibilities.
Sheikh Qassem also emphasized the importance of holding the upcoming parliamentary elections as scheduled, calling for efforts to ensure their success.
