UAE Responds to Iranian Aggression with Self-Defense Measures

Beirut: The United Arab Emirates affirms that it is acting in self-defense in the face of the blatant and unjustified Iranian aggression.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement highlighting the defensive stance of the nation amidst recent hostilities. The ministry reported that Iran launched over 1,400 ballistic missiles and drones, targeting infrastructure and civilian sites within the UAE, leading to civilian casualties. The statement categorized these actions as violations of international law and the UN Charter, encroachments on UAE sovereignty, and threats to national security and stability.

The statement further clarified the UAE's position, emphasizing that the nation does not wish to engage in conflict or escalate tensions. However, it asserted the UAE's right to protect its sovereignty, national security, and territorial integrity. The ministry underscored the UAE's commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens and residents, exercising its right to self-defense as sanctioned by international law and the United Nations Charter.
