Foreign Minister at Arab League Emergency Meeting: Hezbollah Ignored Lebanon’s Interests – Government & People Innocent of Its Actions

Beirut: Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister, Youssef Rajji, participated in the extraordinary virtual meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, dedicated to discussing the issue of "targeting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab states in light of Iranian attacks." In his address to the meeting, Rajji expressed Lebanon's strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting the Gulf Arab states, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Iraq, emphasizing that "these hostile acts are unacceptable by all international standards and norms."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Rajji stated that "targeting civilians and civilian facilities warrants condemnation in the strongest terms, and any infringement upon the security and sovereignty of brotherly countries is something that cannot be tolerated or accepted." He declared Lebanon's full solidarity with its Arab brethren and their peoples, reiterating the country's unwavering support in the face of any threat to their security and stability.

Touching on internal developments, Rajji briefed the conferees on the decision taken by the Lebanese government during its emergency meeting following the launch of missiles by Hezbollah toward Israel, which mandates a complete ban on the party's military and security activities and requires it to immediately hand over its weapons without any delay.

The Foreign Minister expressed his deep regret that "Hezbollah has once again disregarded the higher Lebanese interests to serve foreign agendas, as it has engaged in defending Iran, thus dragging Lebanon into a war in which it has no connection, and provoking severe Israeli military operations on Lebanese areas."

"Hezbollah is making decisions independently of the Lebanese state and its legitimate institutions," Rajji underscored, stressing that "the Lebanese government and the Lebanese people are innocent of these actions and their consequences."
