Morcos: Aoun’s Diplomatic Efforts Helped Shield Lebanon’s Infrastructure

Beirut: Information Minister, Paul Morcos, on Tuesday said diplomatic efforts led by President Joseph Aoun, including contacts with French President Emmanuel Macron and other world leaders, have at least helped prevent the targeting of Lebanon's vital infrastructure and public facilities while working to curb escalation.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Morcos spoke to journalists after a Mass for peace in Lebanon at Mar Youssef-Hikmeh Church in Beirut. He noted that while the diplomatic efforts are ongoing and have not yet produced the desired results, the international contacts conducted by Aoun have undoubtedly mitigated what could have been a much more catastrophic scenario due to the escalation.

The Minister highlighted that the diplomatic initiative remains active and requires further efforts amid the challenging circumstances facing Lebanon and the region. Morcos expressed hope that these diplomatic efforts would be accompanied by prayers for Lebanon so they may bear fruit. He also asked for support for the president, the government, and all those working to restore peace.
