Baabda: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, received former MP Hadi Hbeish at Baabda Palace. After the meeting, Hbeish expressed full support for the negotiation initiative proposed by Aoun aimed at reaching a swift end to the war and preventing further destruction and casualties.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Hbeish also voiced strong support for the Lebanese Army and its leadership, stressing that attacks on the military institution during the current circumstances could negatively affect the morale of soldiers and that any remarks should be addressed away from the media.
Hbeish said discussions also covered the issue of displaced people and the need to ensure adequate shelter, food, and basic services for them, while taking into account the particular circumstances of host communities.
The lawmaker also stressed the importance of the role played by security agencies in organizing the displacement file and managing its repercussions.
