Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Ain el-Tineh, accompanied by Ambassador Alaa Moussa, to discuss the ongoing developments in Lebanon and the region. The talks focused on the continued Israeli escalation and its humanitarian consequences, particularly the issue of displacement.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri expressed gratitude to Egypt for its unwavering support and commended its efforts to halt the offensive. Abdelatty conveyed a message of solidarity from Egypt's leadership, announcing the delivery of approximately 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Lebanon. He condemned the Israeli attacks and emphasized the necessity for an immediate ceasefire, the full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, and support for Lebanese state institutions, especially the army, to assert sovereignty and ensure arms remain under state control.
In a separate meeting, Berri discussed developments and ministry operations with EU Ambassador Sandra De Waele and Public Works Minister Fayez Rasamny.
