Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has declared that the targeting of journalists is a clear violation of international humanitarian law, emphasizing the breach of rules meant to ensure the protection of journalists during wartime.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam stressed Lebanon's dedication to media freedom and its crucial role, reiterating the nation's commitment to safeguarding journalists. He called for adherence to international law, the protection of civilian lives, and an end to Israeli attacks on media personnel.
Salam extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Lebanese government to the families of the deceased journalists Ali Shuaib, Fatima Ftouni, and Muhammad Ftouni, as well as their colleagues, acknowledging their sacrifice in the line of duty.
