Syria: Syrian Deputy Defense Minister Sipan Hamo announced on Sunday that his forces had confronted a drone attack launched from Iraq targeting a US base in northeastern Syria. Hamo wrote on the X platform, "The US base in Qasrak, located on our territory (in the northeastern province of Hasakah), was attacked by four drones launched from Iraqi territory. The drones were shot down without casualties."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the deputy minister continued, "We hold Iraq responsible and call on it to prevent the recurrence of attacks that threaten our stability. We emphasize the importance of regional and international cooperation to ensure security and stability in the region." Hamo condemned the attack, noting it was the second of its kind in two days. On Saturday, the Syrian army announced that it had thwarted a drone attack launched from Iraq on the al-Tanf base in southeastern Syria, which previously housed US forces.
