Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday welcomed the US-Iran announcement of a 15-day ceasefire, praising the efforts of all parties involved, particularly Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the President expressed hope that the move would serve as a first step toward a comprehensive agreement addressing the root causes of regional instability. He emphasized the importance of respecting state sovereignty and rejecting violence as a means of resolving disputes.
Aoun reaffirmed Lebanon's commitment to ensuring that regional peace extends to the country. He stressed the necessity of maintaining full sovereignty, liberating its territory, and ensuring that state institutions have exclusive authority over decisions regarding war, peace, and the use of force.
