Patriarch Rahi Highlights Importance of Land and Peace During Visit to Order of Malta Lebanon’s Agro-Humanitarian Center

Kfarfalous: Patriarch Rahi from the Order of Malta Lebanon's Agro-Humanitarian Center stated, ''The land is the source of our identity, values, and ethics.'' During his tour of the southern villages, aimed at supporting resilience in rural areas, His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Ra, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, visited the agro-humanitarian center of Order of Malta Lebanon in Kfarfalous. The visit was to inaugurate and bless the center, highlighting its significance in bolstering local agriculture and supporting farmers to encourage them to remain on their land.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, His Beatitude emphasized the need for peace, expressing hope that the ceasefire continues and international efforts lead to lasting resolutions. He noted that "peace is God's gift to humanity" and urged the Lebanese people to be its peacemakers. Addressing local deputies, municipal heads, and attendees, he stated, "returning to the land is not merely an economic choice, but a path to salvation that rebuilds the Lebanese individual on foundations of honesty and sincerity."

His Beatitude was received by Marwan Sehnaoui, President of Order of Malta Lebanon, Fran§ois Abi Saab, Charg© d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Lebanon, along with members of the Lebanese Association of the Order of Malta, and the team. Marwan Sehnaoui stressed the enduring faith in Lebanon and humanitarian work, remarking, "We are here by choice; we have chosen to be with you and by your side today, tomorrow, and the day after." He affirmed the Order of Malta Lebanon's dedication to serving those in need without discrimination.

Mr. Bassam Romanos, President of the Jezzine District Union of Municipalities, welcomed His Beatitude and other religious and civil society leaders, noting that the visit to the South conveyed a message of solidarity and support for its residents. This gathering serves as a beacon of hope for a better future, reiterating the Order of Malta's commitment to Lebanon and its mission to strengthen the Lebanese people's resilience and connection to their land.
