Beirut: Minister of Culture Dr. Ghassan Salameh met with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, at the National Library in Sanayeh. They explored bilateral relations, local and regional developments, and ways to enhance cultural cooperation between Lebanon and Russia.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Salameh emphasized the importance of renewing the joint cultural work program between the two countries and involving the younger generation in Lebanon in cultural activities. The discussions also covered general issues affecting both Lebanon and Russia, as well as regional matters.
Ambassador Rudakov expressed gratitude for the dialogue, highlighting the importance of cultural cooperation and acknowledging the sensitive regional context. He recognized Minister Salameh's expertise and respected status in international circles, including the United Nations and the Russian Federation.
The ambassador mentioned efforts by all parties to address the situation in southern Lebanon. He also commented on the potential role of Russia in the Iranian-American crisis, citing Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's visit to Russia and meeting with President Vladimir Putin as significant in seeking a resolution.
