Bkerke: Maronite Patriarch, Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, met with a delegation from the Independent Consultative Bloc at Bkerke, comprised of MPs Ibrahim Kanaan, Alain Aoun, and Simon Abi Ramia. This meeting comes amidst recent tensions in the region.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Kanaan expressed that the visit was a gesture of solidarity with both the patriarch and Lebanon. He highlighted Bkerke's significant historical role since the establishment of Greater Lebanon in 1920. Kanaan emphasized that Rahi's call for neutrality aims to distance Lebanon from violence and external conflicts, underscoring the importance of a unified state that serves all citizens equally.
Kanaan also called for dialogue as a means to protect sovereignty, recover land, and ensure the return of displaced individuals. He warned about the risks of internal divisions that could undermine the nation's stability.
