Beirut: MP Alain Aoun stated that Lebanon is at a pivotal stage and has begun to see part of what it hoped to achieve through the ceasefire, despite it remaining under test and yet to fully extend across all Lebanese territory. Following a meeting with President Joseph Aoun, the MP highlighted the progress achieved as a result of efforts by Lebanese state institutions, bolstered by international and regional support and the assistance of Lebanon's allies.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Aoun emphasized that the next phase requires continued negotiations, arguing that a durable ceasefire would pave the way for achieving Lebanon's key objectives. These objectives include full sovereignty, Israeli withdrawal, the return of stability to the South, and a definitive end to the conflict between Lebanon and Israel.
Aoun further noted that all Lebanese share responsibility for this stage and called for unity behind the country's constitutional institutions, particularly the presidency, government, and parliament.
