Beirut: Bahrain's Foreign Affairs Ministry affirmed the Kingdom's firm position in "supporting the sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity of the sisterly Republic of Lebanon, and rejecting foreign interference in its internal affairs." It reiterated its support for "the efforts of His Excellency the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and his government aimed at building the state, strengthening its constitutional institutions, extending its sovereignty over all its territory, and ensuring that the possession of weapons is solely in the hands of the state, in implementation of the Taif Agreement, UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and other relevant international resolutions."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Ministry expressed "the Kingdom of Bahrain's appreciation for the mediation efforts undertaken by the United States of America, under the leadership of President Donald Trump, to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement in Lebanon," and commended "the Lebanese Presidency and Government for their commitment to the success of negotiations and diplomatic efforts to permanently end hostilities, protect civilians, and ensure the return of displaced persons to their homes."
The Ministry underlined the need to respect Lebanon's sovereignty, independence, and free national decision-making, and to support inclusive national dialogue as the only way to address internal issues. It also emphasized the rejection of using Lebanon as an arena for regional conflicts, thereby strengthening security, stability, and peaceful coexistence in the region and sparing its peoples the dangers of escalating conflicts.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry reiterated the Kingdom's call for "strengthening international and regional efforts to provide urgent humanitarian support to the brotherly Republic of Lebanon, alleviate the suffering of civilians, and support the efforts of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and ensure the safety of its personnel in carrying out their noble mission of maintaining peace and promoting stability."
It also wished the Republic of Lebanon, under the leadership of President General Joseph Aoun, success in fulfilling the aspirations of the Lebanese for stability, reform, and the consolidation of national unity, and in restoring its active role in its Arab and international environment, thus contributing to the consolidation of security, prosperity, and sustainable regional peace.
