Mufti Derian Condoles Qatari Ambassador on Former Emir’s Passing

Beirut: Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, accompanied by a delegation of clerics, visited the Qatari Embassy in Beirut, offering condolences to Qatar's Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, on the passing of the former Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the visit underscored the deep ties between Lebanon and Qatar. The Grand Mufti expressed sympathy and solidarity with the Qatari people during this time of mourning. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who ruled Qatar from 1995 until his abdication in 2013, was remembered for his leadership and contributions to the development of Qatar.

The visit by Mufti Derian and the clerics highlights the respect and regard held for Sheikh Hamad and the strong diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Qatari Embassy in Beirut has been a focal point for condolences from various Lebanese political and religious figures since the announcement of the former Emir's passing.
